National Gallery of Modern Art -NGMA, is a premier art gallery established in 1984. From the first experiments with Western styles in the early twentieth century through the post-independence emergence of new sensibilities, this wide-ranging collection is a testament to artists’ experimentation with and creative appropriations of diverse and often disparate global artistic styles. The comprehensive collection of NGMA and its regional centres' compromises around 17000 art objects is also significant for its impressive representation of the evolution of modern Indian art and its engagement with social and political issues. What follows ahead is my perspective on the website's redesign.
